Students’ Wappu is the biggest and perhaps the most anticipated celebration of the year for students, and this year Wappu is celebrated for over a week! The Finnish May Day tradition includes a march, where people go together often with flags for example. Traditionally here in Kajaani, we also sing the N\u00e4lk\u00e4maan laulu. Students parade colorfully through the center of Kajaani, accompanied by song, towards the statue of Elias L\u00f6nnrot. The statue receives a hat emphasizing its significance, accompanied by a speech. Citizens gather to watch the joyful student procession, so don’t miss this moment! Let’s gather the biggest parade ever!<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meeting at Kajaani\u2019s Kauppatori on Wednesday the 30th<\/sup> of April 2025 at 1.00pm.
