WHAT IS A STUDENT BUDDY?
Student Buddy is an international degree student who can participate in the welcoming of new arriving international exchange and degree student and helping of new students during the orientation days and studies alongside KAMO’s international tutors. Student Buddy helps with organizing different events for all students and international students. Student Buddy is also a member of the international tutoring student team, which aims to develop international matters in KAMO. The team is called to meet by the KAMO’s board member responsible for international affairs.
WHAT CAN YOU GET FROM BEING STUDENT BUDDY?
New friends from different study fields and nationalities, a chance to influence international matters in KAMO and KAMK and great new experiences. Depending on your activity, you have a possibility to earn 1 – 2 credits to your free choice studies.
HOW TO BECOME A STUDENT BUDDY?
That is simple. You can apply if you are a 1st or 2nd year degree international student. You can either send an essay and CV with your picture or fill the application attached to this email and send it with your CV. Send your application via email to kamointernational@kamk.fi or bring your application to KAMO’s office or Kaffé Tauko. The application period ends on the 22nd of February at 12.00pm.
Attach CV and essay where you will tell something about yourself and your backgrounds. Answer also these questions: Why do I want to be a Student Buddy? Why would I be great Student Buddy? How do I want to develop internationality in KAMO?
APPLY PERIOD
We will choose the participants for the interview based on the essays. We will send an email to invite you to the interviews with information on when and where they are held. So, check your email for news about the matter. Interviews will be held on week 11.
We will organize Student Buddy training on week 19. The exact time and place will be announced later. A part of the training will be held together with new international tutoring students, so you will get in touch with the Finnish tutoring students right at the beginning.
Please note that to become a Student Buddy your studies need to be on schedule, without any courses hanging behind.
