Once again it’s here, and it never ends, the Students’ Wappu! Students’ Wappu is the biggest and perhaps the most anticipated celebration of the year for students, and this year Wappu is celebrated for over a week! This year, we get to celebrate Wappu in Kajaani from Tuesday the 22nd of April 2025 to Thursday the 1st of April 2025!

Pre-sale tickets will be available for KAMO’s members starting today at 12.00pm, after which tickets will be available for everyone else today at 1.00pm. There is a limited number of pre-sale tickets.

Overall sewing evening with doughnuts and sima
Celebrating Wappu includes the essential student overalls! Is yours a bit empty or are the patches tearing off?
On Tuesday, at Kaffé Tauko, there will be an overall sewing night, along with doughnuts and sima, and possibly some small competitions. At the same time, you’ll be able to craft equipment and signs to support competitors for the next day’s game!
There is a limited number of doughnuts and sima, but this is a great way to kick off the Wappu festivities!

WEDNESDAY THE 23rd OF APRIL 2025
Students vs. Teacher’s Finnish baseball game
KAMO threw a challenge and KAMK answered — Now it’s time to show who is the real champion of Finnish baseball! Come along and enjoy an exciting Finnish baseball match, where students and teachers battle it out on the field for the Wappu championship!
The match will be played on Wednesday the 23rd of April 2025 at Liikuntapuisto starting from 3.00pm. Participation in the event, both as a player and a supporter, is free!

The Kauppakatu Alley Run
The Kauppakatu Alley Run follows the familiar Appro-style format, where each participant collects stamps in their own pass by visiting designated restaurants. At the restaurants, you can get a stamp by buying a product. Collect stamps and you have the chance to earn yourself a great overall patch!
You have time to run around the alley from 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
Where can I get the pass?
Pre-sale tickets for the Alley Run can be purchased until Thursday the 24th of April 2025, at 12.00pm (5€ / 8€). Passes can also be purchased at the event venue (7€ / 10€).
Those who have purchased tickets in advance can collect their passes on Friday the 25th of April 2025, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm from Kaffé Tauko with receipt of purchase. Passes can also be collected at the event venue (Citykäytävä, next to Instrumentarium) starting from 5.55pm.
Where do I get the overall patch?
You can come and get your overall patch from the Citykäytävä, next to Instrumentarium between 10.15pm to 11.00pm.
Participating venues in the Alley Run are Bar Narnia, Bar Tuttu, Lungibaari Grön, Saint Kukko, Sound Factory, Térapija and Terva Pub.
More detailed information about the Alley Run will be provided later.
Alley Run viral After party’s at Bar96!
After party`s is held at Bar96 from 10.00pm. Ticket to Bar96 cost 5€ with KAMO`s Student card or Member card, for others 8€ (incl. cloakroom).

SATURDAY THE 26th OF APRIL 2025
KaIO goes kyykkäämään
KaIO ry organize again kyykkätournament for Wappu!
Form a team of 4 and come and challenge the others for it, who is the kyykkächampion of Kajaani! In addition, for Kyykkä, there will be socializing and good cheer at Kattilaituri. What does it cost to participate? Nothing! The event does not require any special registration, just show up as a team at the start of the event!

Sunday Bingo
The halfway point of the Wappu has now passed at this point! On Sunday, let’s recharge and relax for the week ahead with a pleasant game of Sunday Bingo! The Bingo machine starts rolling at Rock House Kulma at 4.00pm. The prizes are suitably Wappu-themed. 😊 Bingo tickets for KAMO`s members are 2,5€ / no member 5€.

MONDAY THE 28th OF APRIL 2025
REKKa ry organize Beerpong tournament
REKKa ry is hosting Beerpong tournament on Monday the 28th of April 2025, starting at 6.00pm. The tournament will take place in Rock House Kulma.
The tournament is played in teams of two (2) person and each game will last 10 minutes. More detailed instructions and team registration will be discussed on the site before starting the tournament. Participation in the event is free for everyone, both players and supporters.

Barbeque Season Opening (GWA)
It’s time to open the summer 2025 barbecue season and celebrate the Opening of the Barbecue Season at Suvantoranta Park from 5.00pm onwards.
Wappu is a state of mind, and we don’t mind the possible weather changes! Bring sunbed, something to grill and join us! There may also be a side programme. The grill will be hot until 8.00pm.

WEDNESDAY THE 30th OF APRIL 2025
Wappu March and the hatting of Elias Lönnrot’s Statue
A traditional part of Students’ Wappu is the Wappu March. The Finnish May Day tradition includes a march, where people go together often with flags for example. Traditionally here in Kajaani, we also sing the Nälkämaan laulu. Students parade colorfully through the center of Kajaani, accompanied by song, towards the statue of Elias Lönnrot. The statue receives a hat emphasizing its significance, accompanied by a speech. Citizens gather to watch the joyful student procession, so don’t miss this moment! Let’s gather the biggest parade ever!
Meeting at Kajaani’s Kauppatori on Wednesday the 30th of April 2025 at 1.00pm. If you have overalls, wear them to the parade!

Wappu Bus
Now that the Students’ Wappu has officially begun, the traditional Wappu Bus hits the road on Wednesday! In the Wappu Bus, we’ll visit the local pubs of neighboring towns accompanied by cheerful songs. Departure is Wednesday the 30th of April 2025 at 4.00pm from Ketunpolku. Wappu Bus tickets are ALWAYS sold out, so make sure you don’t miss out! There will be overall patch for all participants!

Ketunpolku – Peevee Bar (Kajaani) – Messi (Sotkamo) –Ravintola Kantis (Sotkamo) – Laavu Bar (Vuokatti) – Kajaani.
We reserve the right to make changes to the route.
To prevent hunger angriness, there’s also an opportunity for dining during the Wappu Bus tour at Messi bar from approximately 5.45pm to 7.20pm. You can reserve yourself a moment at the finger food style buffet table to keep your energy up until the end of the night!

Wappu’s day snack!
The Students’ Wappu is about to be celebrated, but let’s get together for a celebration of May Day and the end of the Students’ Wappu! There will be snacks and a relaxed get-together at Rock House Kulma.
Rock House Kulma offers a Wappu’s snack portion for 9€. Portion includes: snack pizza, nachos and salsa.

🎫 Tickets: No entrance fee! Snack can be booked from the Kide.app for 9€.
